Create a Timeline with Milestones

If you've got to schedule tasks or milestones onto a horizontal axis, it can readily be done in PowerPoint. However if this was a recurring task and you wanted to make it easier to do or just create a template why not create it in Excel, plug in to updated info and let the charting engine take care of the work?
